Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 6

Week 5 of the 2020 Fantasy Football season is in the rear-view and there are more injuries to report. The biggest two were Dak Prescott and Dalvin Cook. See below and hit the waiver wire to replace those studs.

These are players that are owned in less than 50% of Yahoo leagues.

Add these Quarterbacks via Waiver Wire

Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee Titans

I’ve been recommending Tannehill for weeks now. With Dak Prescott out for the year, Tannehill is the best option under 50% ownership to replace him.

Andy Dalton, Dallas Cowboys

The next best option to replace Dak is his backup, Andy Dalton. The Cowboys have a plethora of weapons for Dalton to give you some good fantasy performances.

Derek Carr, Las Vegas Raiders

Carr unlocked the deep ball this past Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs for a season high 347 yards passing and 3 touchdowns. As long as Henry Ruggs is on the field, he enhances the Raiders passing offense.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, Miami Dolphins

I stated last week that Fitzpatrick can win you some weeks so if you played him against the 49ers in Week 5, you got yourself 350 passing yards and 3 touchdowns.

Add these Running Backs

Alexander Mattison, Minnesota Vikings

If you are a Dalvin Cook owner or just need a back for this week, then Mattison should be prioritized. Mattison ran for 112 yards on 20 carries as Cook went down with a groin injury. Cook isn’t expected to suit up in Week 6, therefore Mattison will eat some more.

Justin Jackson, Los Angeles Chargers

Jackson was the better of the Chargers backs against the Saints on Monday night totaling 94 yards and 5 receptions. The backfield is still a split but Jackson showcased why he should be scooped up off the waivers until Austin Ekeler is back.

Add these Wide Receivers via Waiver Wire

Travis Fulgham, Philadelphia Eagles

This is a receiver heavy waiver wire week as there are many options to choose from. I like Fulgham for the rest of the season as he showed that he can be a reliable pass catcher for Carson Wentz who doesn’t have many options at this time. Alshon Jeffery should be back soon but Fulgham earned more playing time by catching 10 of his 13 targets for 152 yards and a touchdown. Grab him immediately as the Eagles are in dire need for healthy bodies.

Henry Ruggs, Las Vegas Raiders

Ruggs finally displayed that easy speed this past Sunday that made him the first receiver off the board in the 2020 NFL Draft. Carr needs to give Ruggs a deep target at least once a quarter to stretch out opposing defenses. He might be a bit boom or bust but he can surely win you a couple of weeks on minimal targets.

Chase Claypool, Pittsburgh Steelers

A draft sleeper, Claypool showcased his skills this past Sunday with 4 total touchdowns. An injury to Diontae Johnson allowed Claypool the opportunity and he took full advantage of it. The Steelers know how to draft receivers and Claypool looks to be another stud in their long lineage of receivers. Even if Johnson is back, Claypool will be very active in the red zone and will get a couple deep shots per game. He needs to be rostered on your team.

Other Wide Receivers I’m Buying on the Waiver Wire –

Mike Williams, Los Angeles Chargers

Laviska Shenault/Keelan Cole, Jacksonville Jaguars

Mecole Hardman/Demarcus Robinson, Kansas City Chiefs

Preston Williams, Miami Dolphins

Add these Tight Ends

Jimmy Graham, Chicago Bears

A consistent threat in the Bears passing attack, Graham is showing that he still can produce at the age of 33. The change from Mitchell Trubisky to Nick Foles is an upgrade for all the Bears’ pass catchers. It’s okay to load up on the Bears’ weapons now.

Cameron Brate, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Gronk finally woke up in Week 5, but I still have a sneaky suspicion Brate is the Bucs tight end to own. Brate caught 5 of his 6 targets for 44 yards and I predict he will continue to be a guy Tom Brady targets in the Bucs offense.

Trey Burton, Indianapolis Colts

It’s Jack Doyle, no it’s Mo Allie-Cox… I meant the tight end to grab is Trey Burton in Indianapolis. I am not sure if the Colts will ever decide on who their TE1 is but Burton had a team high in routes and targets over the past two weeks for Colts’ tight ends. He’s worth a speculative add.
