Week 4 of the 2020 Fantasy Football season is in the rear-view and there are more injuries to report. The biggest two were Nick Chubb and Austin Ekeler. See below and hit the waiver wire to replace those stud running backs until they get healthy.
These are players that are owned in less than 50% of Yahoo leagues.
Add these Quarterbacks via Waiver Wire
Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee Titans
It’s amazing that Tannehill is still under 50% ownership. With his unexpected bye week in Week 4, Tannehill may go under the radar so I suggest you scoop him up. I don’t see many 6-field goal games for the Titans, so Tannehill’s 0 touchdown Week 3 performance should be an anomaly and not the norm. Hit the waiver wire and get this man over 50% ownership.
Gardner Minshew, Jacksonville Jaguars
After attempting only 20 passes in Week 1, Minshew now has three straight 40+ attempt games. The Jaguars anemic defense will continue to force the offfense to play catch-up often this season. Furthermore, getting his number one receiver D.J. Chark back in the offense should do wonders for Minshew. Get him on your roster and start him with confidence, especially in matchups where you think the Jags will be playing from behind.
Teddy Bridgewater, Carolina Panthers
Whether you call him Teddy Ballgame or Teddy Two Gloves, Bridgewater should be on your fantasy radar. The intermediate assassin has gotten some flak in the fantasy community in the past due to his lack of getting the ball deep downfield. However, Joe Brady’s offense is a perfect match for Bridgewater. A 73% completion percentage and a great rapport with Robby Anderson should keep Bridgewater as a viable fantasy option for the rest of the season.
Ryan Fitzpatrick, Miami Dolphins
As long as Fitzpatrick is starting for the Dolphins, he will always be a nice matchup-based streaming option. The ultimate gunslinger is a wide receiver’s best friend but he may also give the defense some opportunities as well. Keep an eye on Tua Tagovailoa replacing him in the lineup, but if Fitzpatrick continues to start he can win you fantasy weeks.
Add these Running Backs
Damien Harris, New England Patriots
With Sony Michel on the IR list, this is Damien Harris’ backfield until Belichick decides it’s not. Owning a Belichick back is risky in of itself, but Harris is a dual threat back with young legs to carry them for the foreseeable future. Rex Burkhead and James White will get their touches but Harris offers the highest upside.
D’Ernest Johnson, Cleveland Browns
The injury to Nick Chubb leaves a huge hole in the Browns offense. For this team to win games, they have to run the football and play great defense. Well it’s going to be a little harder with Chubb out 4-6 weeks. Kareem Hunt is the biggest beneficiary from Chubb’s absence. However, the former USF Bull, Johnson, will also be asked to help carry the load. Johnson actually received more carries than Hunt on Sunday (13-11). I don’t expect that to continue but I do see 8-10 carries per game making him a borderline flex option as the Browns have a strong rushing attack.
Justin Jackson, Los Angeles Chargers
Jackson will have a similar role as Johnson above. The injury to Austin Ekeler gives rookie Joshua Kelly an inside track to fantasy stardom; but Jackson shouldn’t be an afterthought. He knows the offense and has looked good in his limited opportunities in the past. I see a 60-40 workload for Kelley going forward, but more Kelley fumbles (2 fumbles in the last 2 games) or an injury to the rookie can make Jackson the bell cow in L.A.
Other Running Backs I’m Buying on the Waiver Wire –
Chase Edmonds, Arizona Cardinals
Alexander Mattison, Minnesota Vikings
Rex Burkhead, New England Patriots
Add these Wide Receivers via Waiver Wire
Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals
The second round pick for the Bengals this season is starting to make an impact. In what was thought to be a crowded receiver room in Cincinnati, now has a clearer picture. John Ross has been a healthy scratch two weeks in a row, Auden Tate is nowhere to be found, and A.J Green has looked like a shell of his former self. Joe Burrow has been targeting the reliable Tyler Boyd and Higgins. Twenty-two targets over the last 3 weeks speaks volumes. Higgins should be rostered as he has a chance to explode in his rookie season.
Laviska Shenault/Keelan Cole, Jacksonville Jaguars
See Gardner Minshew above. I expect lots of passing in Jacksonville. Cole and Shenault have been consistent throughout the season and get a boost with D.J. Chark back in the lineup. Some may think Chark may diminish their fantasy production, but I see it as an opportunity for them to get more single coverage and free up space for them to eat. I like them both moving forward.
Hunter Renfrow, Las Vegas Raiders
Injuries to the Raiders starting receivers Henry Ruggs and Bryan Edwards gives Renfrow a boost in targets in the short term. Carr’s number one option is still Darren Waller, but if teams smarten up and take him away with double coverage, then Renfrow will be the guy to target. The dependable slot receiver is more attractive in PPR leagues but he’s a good pickup as long as the Raiders starting receivers are out.
Other Wide Receivers I’m Buying on the Waiver Wire –
Scotty Miller, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Anthony Miller, Chicago Bears
Greg Ward, Philadelphia Eagles
Tim Patrick, Denver Broncos
Add these Tight Ends
Robert Tonyan, Green Bay Packers
Tonyan now has 5 touchdowns in the last 3 games and looks like the tight end to own in Green Bay. With Davante Adams dealing with an hamstring injury and Allen Lazard our for a while, Rodgers is leaning on Tonyan in the passing game. Even when Adams returns, Tonyan is a good option for tight end needy fantasy teams. He has a good chance at finishing as a TE1 in 2020.
Eric Ebron, Pittsburgh Steelers
Rinse and Repeat from last week.
Mo Alie-Cox, Indianapolis Colts
Rinse and Repeat from last week.
Cameron Brate, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
With O.J. Howard out for the year with an Achilles injury, it’s time to make Tampa Bay “Brate” again. Rob Gronkowski might be the tight end fantasy teams target, but Brate is the sneaky pickup that can outproduce Gronk. He caught a TD last week and at this point in their careers he might be the better receiving option of the two.
