We live in South Carolina, a state that has a pseudo mandatory Shelter In Place.  Governor McMaster continues to have press briefings lasting anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes.  After each briefing, nothing changes,  I AM STILL LOST!!!  I honesty can’t understand what our Governor is thinking, saying and NOT doing.

It has been exactly one month since I have self imposed my own Shelter In Place.  I am doing everything within my power to stay safe.  I have masks, gloves and disinfectant wipes in my possession at all times.  I only leave the house when it is absolutely necessary. I can count how many times I have left the house in the last month on one hand.  When Lin and I record, we take all of the necessary precautions.  We wash our hands, we sit six feet apart, wipe down the equipment and spray, spray spray with disinfectant.  We are currently researching ways to record remotely, because we have to give the people what they want.  Just a little humor during this trying time 🙂

The thing that is so frustrating for me is how irresponsible people are being.  I see so many people going on with their daily lives as if this pandemic is not real. They are disregarding all of the warnings made by epidemiologists and infectious disease experts, thus endangering my life and the lives of the people I love.  To blatantly disregard all of the evidence surrounding this virus and its harmful impact to life as we know it, is just plain stupid, in my humble opinion.

Maybe I’m watching to much CNN and MSNBC. Maybe I’m paying to much attention to the death toll ticker.  Maybe I’m reading to many posts circulating on Facebook about the Coronavirus.  What to do? What not to do? When will the peak happen? How many deaths will occur? The questions and opinions go on and on.  What I will not do is ignore the obvious.  The Coronavirus is real and right now it is in control.

I guess my plea is simple.  PEOPLE, PLEASE STAY HOME!!!!
