The New England Patriots have pulled off a monumental feat in these trying times.
As first reported by Andrew Beaton of the Wall Street Journal, the New England Patriots sent one of their planes to China to bring back 1.2 million N95 masks for use by frontline American health-care members.
The mission required patience and precision. Once the Patriots received permission to land in China, the plane was permitted to be on the ground there for three hours only. With three minutes to spare, the masks were loaded into the Boeing 767 painted in Pats’ colors and also with the tagline “6X Champions.”
The plane initially flew to Alaska where the crew awaited final approval to proceed to China and get the masks from there. The plane is due to return in Boston on Thursday afternoon.
