No More Prozac and Buspar? or Maybe….

Essential Oils. Changing Lives One Drop At A Time

downloadThis week on Episode 52 during check-in, I mentioned that I had started taking essential oils. This is important because for the last year I have been taking psychotropic drugs to help cope with my anxiety.  During DefyLife’s first annual Retreat I was introduced to Keisher Glymph.  She began telling me about essential oils and their benefits.  She explained that essential oils are natural aromatic compounds found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers and other parts of plants.  Essential oils have been used throughout history in many cultures for their health-promoting properties.  I  found this very intriguing, mostly because I never wanted to be a life long prescription drug taker, if at all possible.

After several conversations and of course research, I decided to take that leap!!!! Since I’m a newbie I decided to start off slow.   I ordered the doTERRA Family Essentials Kit.  I chose this kit because it contained 10 essential oils that our entire family could use.  I am focusing on the benefits of Balance and Lavender.  The Balance is supposed toimages (3) create a sense of calm and well being.  The Lavender is used to give a calming, soothing, and relaxing state. Other oils contained in the kit include: Peppermint, Lemon, Deep Blue, Tea Tree, Frankincense, Oregano, Breathe, On Guard and DigestZen.  The kit also came with a  Diffuser (which was a pleasant surprise).
It’s only been three weeks, but so far the results have been promising.  Let’s see what the new journey has to offer.
