MLB Update, Recap and Perspectives, Friday, 9-20-19:

MLB Update:

— Mets tear the Reds to shreds, with some long distance driving by the picture of power Pete; we haven’t seen a swing with this much hydraulic lift since the hitch hitter Cecil Fielder. #Mets #Reds
— Pittsburgh continues to wet the bed as its abysmal second half slide careens off a very pronounced cliff; seriously folks, isn’t it time to go in a different direction with both the manager and management? In the words of Angry Met fan, the Bucs would need to drastically improve at this point to be considered “horrible”. This is totally pathetic. #Pirates #Brewers
— Yankees lose more ground to the Astros in the fight for best record, and also may have temporarily lost the services of terrific Torres. #BlueJays #Yankees
— Cubs’ sporadic hitting woes come back to stub them in the toes in a major way today, as St. Louis stops them cold again, in what must be viewed as a must-win situation. Yes, they’re still in the hunt, but this does not look like a playoff team, in any way, shape or form. #Cardinals #Cubs
