If you are in the Columbia, South Carolina area and are looking for a spot to sit back and enjoy some good food and GREAT beer, visit The Hunter Gatherer Hangar. It is a great spot that has an amazing rustic atmosphere. It is an old airplane hanger that has been transformed into a hangout spot, this local brewery is located at 1402 Jim Hamilton BLVD in Columbia, South Carolina.

This place is a tad different than the normal eatery that we cover, but I went there to see a jazz band that was playing there and fell in love with the place and decided to cover this place. Their menu focuses more on appetizers and stone fired pizzas. I had the BBQ Chicken and Ranch Pizza as well as the guac dip and chips. The Pizza was PERFECT! I normally am not a fan of the BBQ Chicken Pizza, but this pizza was GOOD. The crust was light, crispy, and very tasty. The sauce was good and complimented the chicken and bacon well. The ranch over the top was a nice touch. I would be remiss if I did not talk about the beer. Now, I am off of beer, but I had one and certainly went back for another…and don’t tell my doctor, but another! It was really GOOD Beer! So if you drink Beer make sure to go there!

All in all, this was a great experience. From the atmosphere to the music to the food and let’s not forget the BEER!! This place gets “4 out of 5 Forks” and this is a very affordable place on the 5 “$” scale this place is “$”.
