A historic casting choice is underway in the legendary 007 film series.
British actress Lashana Lynch is being introduced as the new 007 in the Bond franchise’s 25th movie,i which is currently filming.
However, it is not a complete make-over — with Lynch only receiving James Bond’s secret agent number after he retires from MI6, per reports.
Bond, himself, will still be played by incumbent Daniel Craig — and will still adhere to his traditional male-hero characteristics.
‘Bond, of course, is sexually attracted to the new female 007 and tries his usual seduction tricks, but is baffled when they don’t work on a brilliant, young black woman who basically rolls her eyes at him and has no interest in jumping into his bed,” according to reports.
Londoner Lynch, who played fighter pilot Maria Rambeau in 2019’s “Captain Marvel”, is hoped to modernize the franchise widely criticized by many as being too dated and sexist.
