The collusion grievances filed against the NFL by Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid have been resolved.
The National Football League and Attorney Mark Geragos released a joint statement with the announcement Friday afternoon. The terms of the settlement were not revealed, due to a confidentiality agreement. The settlement comes after several months of discussion between the league and legal counsel representing the two players.
The case was set to be heard in front of an arbitrator in the near future. It’s reasonable to think there is a financial component to deter that from occurring. However, the confidentiality agreement means that neither side will be able to reveal what happened to bring the case to an end. Also, this means no emails, texts or conversations from the NFL or its owners will have to be shared.
Kaepernick is still not on any NFL roster, while Reid recently signed a 3-year extension with the Carolina Panthers.
