Former LSU running backs Leonard Fournette and Derrius Guice stepped up to pay an LSU trainer’s tuition.
Former star running backs Leonard Fournette and Derrius Guice rushed for a combined 4,619 yards while at LSU. They are now making a difference at LSU again to help an athletic trainer in need of assistance.
J’hane Garner, who was an LSU student trainer during her sophomore year, set up a GoFundMe after she was informed she was short nearly $11,000 for her final year of college.
Amazingly, Guice stepped in and donated $1,000. After that, Fournette told her he’d take care of the rest..
Fournette, who is in London attending Wimbeldon, told Will Gavin of talkSPORT that it wasn’t a difficult choice to help Garner.
“She’s from the hometown so I was like why not give back to where I’m from,” said Fournette. “I feel like everybody needs that chance.”
Garner’s GoFundMe page states that she was entering her fifth year of college. Also, her TOPS scholarship was running out, leaving her significantly short for the tuition bill.
“Words can’t explain how much appreciation I have towards everybody,” stated Garner.
