Kam Chancellor, a key member of Seattle’s Legion of Boom says “It’s time for the next chapter”.
There have been significant doubts regarding Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor‘s on-field future since his 2017 season ended with a neck injury. Sunday brought word from Chancellor, himself, that he likely won’t be back on the field.
Although Chancellor never actually mentions the word “retire,” a series of tweets seemed to indicate he is moving on from football.
The 30-year-old suffered a career-threatening neck injury last season and said in May that he would continue playing if his health permitted.
Chancellor, along with free safety Earl Thomas and cornerback Richard Sherman, comprised the Legion of Boom. The unit is considered one of the top defensive backfields in the history of the sport and helped lead Seattle to a victory in Super Bowl XLVIII.
