A Hip Hop Pioneer- Luv Bug Starski Has Died

He is credited for the phrase “Hip Hop”.

Every Hip Hop head has a first favorite rapper. Mine was Luv Bug Starski. He passed away today at the age of 57.

Many know him from the opening of a classic Biggie’s joint, Juicy. I know him as one the culture’s pioneering rappers. He is credited for the phrase “hip hop”.

Not only was he a rapper, but he also was a dope DJ.

He saw Hip Hop grow from the parks in the Bronx, to being the most dominant youth culture in the world.
