The latest edition of the Rocky movie series, Creed 2 is set, with Ivan Drago’s son the new nemesis.
Creed 2 will continue to chronicle Adonis Creed’s (Michael B. Jordan) journey in and out of the ring as he deals with his relationship, family issues, newfound fame and the mounting quest to become a boxing champion.
Romanian boxer Florian Munteanu (pictured) will play Ivan Drago’s son in Creed 2. Sylvester Stallone and Dolph Lundgren will reprise their roles as Rocky Balboa and Ivan Drago, respectively. In Rocky IV, Drago and Balboa famously faced off. It was also Drago who killed Adonis’ father and Balboa’s best friend, Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers), so obviously the younger Creed will attempt get exact his revenge on Drago’s son. Tessa Thompson also returns as Adonis’ girlfriend, Bianca.
The original Creed grossed $173 million worldwide in 2015, earning Stallone an Oscar nomination for his supporting role.
Production is expected to begin in March in Philadelphia, with a U.S. release date of Nov. 21, 2018.
