Jimmy Iovine To Leave Apple Music

Jimmy Iovine is reportedly set to leave Apple Music in August.

Iovine’s impending departure has yet to be confirmed by himself or Apple, but there are reports that the Interscope co-founder’s exit jives with the timeline of him receiving his final paycheck for the Beats Entertainment deal.

Iovine and long-time business partner, Dr. Dre, tagged with Apple after the technology giant purchased the duo’s Beats Electronics and Beats Music brand for $3 billion back in 2014.

Since that time, Iovine has helped lead Apple Music, the brand’s subscription-based music streaming service that currently — Apple reports — has more than 30 million paying subscribers worldwide.

Again, neither Iovine, nor Apple, have publicly commented on the reports.
