Sherra Wright-Robinson was arrested on Friday December 15, in connection with the death of Lorenzen Wright.
Wright was murdered sometimes around July 28, 2010, 10 days after he was reported missing. Wright-Robinson will be charged with first degree murder in connection with the death of her ex-husband. On December 5th, Billy R. Turner, a 46-year-old deacon at Mt. Olive No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church in Collierville, Tennessee, was arrested and also charged with Wright’s murder. Wright had been shot multiple times. The murder weapon was found in a lake near walnut Mississippi 75 miles from Memphis Tennessee where Wright’s body was found.
On an interview with The Commercial Appeal in 2015, Wright-Robinson spoke of her ex-husband’s death saying, “On certain days when it gets hard, we have to just pretend like he’s still on a road trip, It’s still hard.”
Wright was a fan favorite in Memphis and was known for his charity work with youth and his father’s involvement as a coach in summer leagues.
