Nike is expanding its foothold as NFL equipment supplier.
The apparel and shoe empire is working with Hewlett-Packard to develop shoes that can be produced by NFL teams using 3D printers, per itbusiness.ca. This process of streamlined prototypes will allow for customizations and adjustments to be made quickly and efficiently.
This wouldn’t be the first time that equipment using a 3D printer was used in an NFL game. During Super Bowl 50, Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis covered his broken forearm with a sleeve made from a 3D printer.
