Legendary Hip Hop Dancer Voodoo Ray Passes Away

Raymond Ultarte, known in the Hip Hop industry as Voodoo Ray, passed away in his New York home this week.

Voodoo Ray, an iconic New York dancer who made memorable appearances in numerous Hip Hop videos, passed away October 17.

Born Raymond Ultarte, Voodoo Ray’s moves made him a staple in videos throughout the 80s and 90s.

You’ve seen Voodoo Ray’s footwork in dozens of videos, like Run-DMC’s “It’s Like That,”, Busta Rhymes’ “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See.” and JAY-Z’s “Sunshine”.

Just 50-years-old, Ultarte’s cause of death has not been announced.
