After 9 years in a Nevada prison, O.J. Simpson is a free man.
Simpson was to be released as early as Monday. He’s actually out a day earlier.
Per the Associated Press, Nevada prisons spokesperson Brooke Keast stated Simpson has been released. However, had no further details regarding Simpson’s status.
“I don’t have any information on where he’s going,” Keast stated, adding that she can’t identify the person that picked him up from prison.
The statement that he was to be released as soon as Monday was apparently a plan to keep hordes of media away from the prison release. It obviously was effective.
“We needed to do this to ensure public safety and to avoid any possible incident,” Keast stated.
While there may have been no actual “incidents” upon his release, Simpson surely would have attracted tons of media attention and general fascination.
