The fallout from the FBI investigation has begun as hall of fame basketball coach Rick Pitino and his Athletic Director Tom Jurich have been place on paid leave at Louisville.
A final decision on the fates of Pitino and Jurich will be made on October 18th at the next scheduled board of trustees meeting. According to his contract, Pitino must be given a 10 days’ notice before any firing can be official. Louisville is currently serving a self-imposed penalty for providing strippers and prostitutes to players and recruits in a campus dormitory over several years. The NCAA announced in June that Pitino would have to serve a 5 game suspension next season and that the team would have to forfeit dozens of victories possibly including the 2013 national championship.
