Forbe’s Reveals 2017 Hip Hop Cash Kings List, First-Timers Included

Forbes has revealed its annual Hip Hop Cash Kings list, which includes new high-earners as well as some familiar names.

Diddy once again tops the list with astonishing earnings of $130 million over a 12-month span, which Forbes concluded calculating at the end of June 2017. That amount is more than double what he earned in 2016 ($62 million), when he was also the top-earner.

Drake, JAY-Z and Dr. Dre remained in the Top 5, however in different order. Drake grabbed the #2 spot by a long shot, earning $94 million, while JAY-Z earned $42 million and Dr. Dre $34.5 million.

The most noticeable change for 2017 is the addition of Chance The Rapper, who entered the top-5 with $32 million ni earnings. Despite releasing no physical albums,Chino managed to bring in substantial income thanks to his streaming, touring and his major deals with Kit Kat and Apple.

Narrowly missing the top-5, is Kendrick Lamar, finishing #6 at $30 million. K-Dot did make a big jump from 2016 when he came in at #9. Lil Yachty is another new name on the list at #20, marking another sign of the changing times in the world of Hip Hop.
