After Donald Trump disparaged NFL players for kneeling during the national anthem, several other high profile celebrities responded in support of the players.
Oakland A’s catcher Bruce Maxwell and music legend Stevie Wonder both took knees in response to Trumps comments on Friday. Falcons, Dolphins, 49ers, Packers, Chargers owners have all released statements denouncing Trump’s comments. Dolphins owner Stephen Ross said “These are smart young men of character who want to make our world a better place for everyone, they wanted to start a conversation and are making a difference in our community.”
Teresa Kaepernick mother of Colin Kaepernick who Trump called a bitch Friday night responded by tweeting “Guess that makes me a proud bitch!”
On Saturday night Sean “P Diddy” Combs sent a message to NFL players in response to Trump via instagram to his 9 million followers by saying “I just want to send some blessings and also some support for all the players in the NFL, my message to yall even though you ain’t asking and I rarely give them. Yall got a chance to do something really great tomorrow.”
Lebron James went as far as calling Trump a bum because of an earlier move by the President to preemptively uninviting the world champion Golden State Warriors to the White house. “U bum @StephenCurry30 already said he ain’t going! So therefore ain’t no invite. Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!”
