Knicks trade Carmelo Anthony

According to the report, the Knicks will get Doug McDermott, Enes Kanter, and a 2018 second-round draft pick for from the Thunder.

According to a ESPN report, the Knicks have finally traded Carmelo Anthony.

According to the report, the Knicks will get Doug McDermott, Enes Kanter, and a 2018 second-round draft pick for from the Thunder. This comes one day after reports had surfaced that Anthony had broadened his stance on only being traded to the Rockets. Numerous reports claimed that Anthony had expanded his wish list to include the Cavaliers, Blazers, and Thunder.

Just in time, as the Knicks’ camp opens Monday. The Knicks claimed they were prepared to open the season with Carmelo on their squad, but that would have been very awkward as they focus their franchise on their future and have obviously moved on from Carmelo.

Now Carmelo, 33, joins a team with Russell Westbrook (the reigning NBA MVP) and Paul George. While the Knicks add two 25 years old players, Kanter and McDermott, to a bench that lacked quality depth.
