So What’s Next For Conor McGregor?

After a surprising performance Saturday night against Floyd Mayweather many wonder what’s next for McGregor.

Conor McGregor was stopped in the 10th round on Saturday night by Floyd Mayweather. Many who watched the bout were amazed at how well Conor looked in the ring against Floyd. He landed 111 punches even though critics said he would not even touch Floyd. He landed a nice uppercut early in the fight that Floyd didn’t manage to avoid. Although a 40 year old Floyd is slower but still dangerous in the ring, Conor did better than a lot of other Mayweather opponents even Pacquiao.

So what’s next for Conor McGregor? Well even though he may have a promising career in boxing, he is still an under contract UFC fighter. He is believed to have 4 more fights on his contract. Conor is rumored to be making around $100 million after his fight with Mayweather. That total includes the fight purse, pay-per-view, and promotional items. His biggest pay day in the UFC was $3 million in the Nate Diaz fight. Now it does not take a mathematician to see that he just got a huge pay raise. But hey no one offers you a bigger pay day than Floyd “Money” Mayweather. Dana White and the UFC will just have to start writing bigger checks. Conor’s promotional tour for this fight took a page out of the World Wrestling Entertainment book. Could the WWE be in the future for McGregor? He mentioned in his post fight interview about launching his own liquor brand “Notorious Irish Whiskey“. He is also working with designer David August to launch “August McGregor” suits. Conor will definately have options to do bigger and better things now.
