The End Of An Era

The illustrious career of Usain Bolt comes to a disappointing conclusion.

Usain Bolt is the most decorated sprinter ever. He has won 19 gold medals, with 2 silvers in the Olympics and IAAF World Championships — the most in the sport’s history. Former track and field great Carl Lewis possesses 20 total metals.

Bolt ended his historic career the only way we knew he would, fighting for a gold medal. However, the outcome wasn’t what we expected. His last chance at glory captured him  lying on the track with his face to the clouds, in the World Championships, with a left leg injury.

If this is, indeed his final race, it’s truly the end of an era.
