Green Bay Packers tight end Martellus Bennett definitely was not falling in line with the rhetoric of dying on a football field.
You can always count on Martellus Bennett to say something that is entertaining, yet completely honest.
New York Jets rookie Jamal Adams proudly proclaimed that a football field would be the perfect place to die and was applauded by fans in attendance. However, veteran Martellus Bennett was not here for it and took to Twitter to give us his thoughts on Adams’ thoughts.
Martellus Bennett tweeted:
Here’s to hoping more young NFL players take heed to Bennett’s words, and that fans who applaud Adams’ feelings actually take time to remember all the damaged, wheelchair-bound, deceased football players that they couldn’t care less about now that they are no longer available to entertain us on Sundays…and Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays, Thanksgiving & Christmas.
