Quincy Jones wins Multi million Dollar lawsuit against Michael Jackson Estate

A jury has awarded Quincy Jones $9.4 Million in a suit where the legendary hit-maker alleged he was shorted for his work on three of Michael Jackson’s biggest selling albums.

The Los Angeles jury did not give him the $30 million he was asking for, but did find that he had been underpaid in royalties for music used in the “This Is It” documentary and two Cirque du Soleil shows.  “Although this judgement is not the full amount that I was seeking, I am very grateful that the jury decided in our favor in this matter,” Jones said in a statement. “I view it not only as a victory for myself personally, but for artists’ rights overall.”
