Nelsan Ellis who played in roles such as “True Blood”, “Get on Up, and “The Butler” has died at the age of 39.
Ellis’s manager, Emily Gerson Saines, told the Hollywood Reporter that the cause was heart failure. Ellis’s most recent role was in “True Blood” where he played a diner cook and dealer of addictive vampire blood in rural Louisiana. The role was initially supposed to be a smaller one but Ellis stole the show and his character was spared death until the final season which was different than the book where the character died much sooner in the story. The official cause of death has not been released.
