The Department of the Treasury-IRS has filed notice of a federal tax lien on Eddie Long and his wife according to documents filed in May in DeKalb County Superior Court.
“We have made a demand for payment for this liability, but it remains unpaid,” according to filing. “Therefore, there is a lien in favor of the United States on all property and rights to property belonging to this taxpayer for the amount of these taxes, and additional penalties, interests and cost that may accrue.”
Eddie long died earlier this year after battling an aggressive form of cancer. He was named in a 2010 lawsuit by former New Birth members Anthony Flagg, Spencer LeGrande, Jamal Parris and Maurice Robinson, who alleged the bishop used his influence, trips, gifts and jobs to coerce them into sexual relationships.
