Kathy Griffin tearfully apologized during a press conference this past Friday for posing with a bloodied severed head replica of U.S. President Donald Trump.
Griffin, known for her edgy comedy, has lost sponsorships and her job at CNN as an anchor for the new years eve celebration with co host Anderson Cooper. During the press conference Griffin stated, ‘“I don’t think I will have a career after this. I’m going to be honest, (Trump) broke me,”. Griffin initially said that the photo was meant to mock the comments Trump made during the campaign about Megyn Kelly, saying she had “blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her – wherever”.
The US secret service responsible for the safety of the president has said that they are investigating the incident as a threat against his life are a class E felony and are punishable by up to 5 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
