Android Creator Looks To Shake Up The Tech World With New Phone

Andy Rubin, founder of Essential Products debuts his new creation the PH-1 smartphone.

In today’s world smartphones are a part of life. The smartphone market is flooded with what it seems like to be a phone for every type of user. Samsung and Apple have been the two mobile phone powerhouses  for sometime now. Both companies offer somewhat essential-phone-whitepricey, and high end devices that can do just about everything. Consumers barely get used to their new phone before another one is introduced. $800.00 for a phone and its outdated in a year? Well lookout Apple and Samsung, you’ve got company.

Andy Rubin’s new smartphone the PH-1 looks to be the next big thing for consumers. It is still a little pricey at $699.00 but, cheaper than other high end devices in its class. The phone has a sleek design, and looks to eliminate a lot of the bloatware from its software. It doesn’t even have a logo. The PH-1 wants to bring simplicity to smartphone use. Andy expressed his concerns with the current smartphone technology that he had a hand in creating,

For all the good Android has done to help bring technology to nearly everyone it has also helped create this weird new world where people are forced to fight with the very technology that was supposed to simplify their lives. Was this what we had intended? Was this the best we could do?”

As far as design, I think the PH-1 is a beautiful device. Is it just me or do all of the smartphones kind of look alike? If the Iphone 7 and the Galaxy S8 had a baby it would be the Essential PH-1. Maybe its just me. With the price and the high end specs to match, this device would be appealing to most consumers.

The PH-1 is available now for preorder at
