Nelly Inks Deal With FOX Sports

Nelly joins the growing list of stars that have joined FS1 in its efforts to dethrone ESPN.

Nelly has signed a development deal with Fox that will have him joining Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe as a contributor on FS1’s Undisputed on November 1st. Last month FS1 added Bayless and watched its ratings surge over 300% as a result, with the major driver being with the 18-49 demographic.   images

Nelly is no stranger to the sports world. His credentials include being part owner of the Charlotte Hornets, and as an athlete playing 2 sports, football and baseball even catching the eye of a few MLB teams during his playing days. The highlight of his baseball career in his own words was winning the MVP with the St. Louis Amateur Baseball Association.  “I didn’t even start,” says Nelly. “I was a sub on this team. This was like an All-Star game where we had athletes from different teams, different mixtures. We had like the only black team in the league, basically. We had four players go to the All-Star game. We were losing 5-1 in the seventh inning and the coach subbed us in, and we managed to come back and win. I wound up getting the MVP for that, so I was real happy.”

Exact details of the Fox deal have not been made public, but his star power alone should give the show another bump in ratings to go along with what it got after adding Bayless.
